Fall/Winter Lippies!

Hello everyone! Today I will be writing about my favourite fall lipsticks (so far!) that will also last me into the winter. I have never ventured too far away from a nude/pink lip before, so my dark lipstick choices of the season are very much an experimentation and so far I'm loving it! I thought with my pale skin I could never pull off a dark lip, but with some searching, I have managed to find quite a few lipsticks that work well with my skin tone! Now, onto the products!

The first two products I'm going to feature are Mac products. This one was my first Mac lipstick purchase and therefore holds a special place in my heart. Kittenish is a PatentPolish Lip Pencil, and is very similar to all of the various lip pencils out there at the moment. It is a Mauve-ish blue toned pink colour, with a glossy finish and feels really nice on the lips. It's not quite a nude, but not quite a bold lip either, so is good for when I want to go for a casual lip with a bit of pop.

This lipstick was my first Mac bullet lip product, and I had specifically been looking for a pinky nude colour, that was my-lip-colour-but-better. This very nearly matches my exact lip colour, but gives me lips a pop that just a clear gloss or lip balm doesn't give. The product is lustre formula "Shy Shine". I haven't really heard about this particular colour at all in the beauty blogging world, but I quite like it. It is very glossy as it is a lustre, and doesn't dry my lips out at all, and can often go on without a balm underneath. Definitely a must have year round for me.

My last four products are all Rimmel London, and I'm sorry for the little variety, but really, Mac is my staple high end brand for lip products, and Rimmel London makes my favourite lipsticks, and is definitely a penny saver. This first Rimmel London lippy is a Kate Moss edition lipstick which is just simply "01". It is a very basic bold red lip colour that looks very flattering on my lips. I have quite a hard time finding reds that work with my skin tone, so I was very happy to find this one!

This second Rimmel London lipstick is currently one of my favourite colour schemes. Sort of alone the lines with Mac Kittenish, it's a deep mauve-ish blue toned pink. For whatever reason this and the lipstick I'll be discussing next just look absolutely gorgeous and complementary with my skin tone, and putting this on just makes my morning feel complete and makes me feel like I can take on the world. This colour is "136 Ballistic" and I definitely recommend this, I will be wearing it so much this fall and winter!

This Rimmel London lipstick "123 True Vintage" is my abosolute favourite holy grail lipstick. It is yet another blue toned deep mauve-y pink lipstick but with less red tones than the last. This is just the perfect colour for my skin tone and just makes me feel so happy to wear.

My final lipstick that I'm loving for fall is this Rimmel London lipstick in "124 Bordeaux". This is a dark vampy red lipstick that is a staple in any girls fall makeup collection. I had seen Arden Rose on YouTube posting photos of herself wearing a very similar colour on Instagram, and knew I had to find my perfect dark red lipstick, and this is my chosen one.

Well, I hope you enjoyed reading this post and please let me know in the comments if you've tried any of these lipsticks and what your favourites are this far! I'm loving experimenting with darker, bolder lips, so if you have any recommendation please leave them down below! :)

For a little something extra, here's what I've been jamming to while writing this post. :)

Mani of the Week: Essie 'In Stitches'

Hello everyone! This weeks mani features Essie's 'In Stitches, which I am totally in love with. It's a nice winter colour but is also fits into Spring, and I'm absolutely craving for winter to be over, so it's a nice pick me up. As always, I applied my Essie Millionails as a base coat, and then applied my Borghese Presto Fast Dry Top Coat over In stictches.

What's your go to winter/spring transition colour?

Hope everyone is having a terrific week! Thanks to everyone who has followed me lately, I feel absolutely blessed that people are reading my blog and enjoy what I have to say! Thank you!

Winter Nail Polishes

Hello everyone!

So first, sorry for missing yesterday, I just had a down day and so put aside blogging for day. Second, I had really wanted to make this post into a youtube video, but as it turns out, my webcam is broken. I am really disappointed, but I thought I would share my winter nail polishes nonetheless since Spring is just around the corner, so once March hits I'll be completely revamping my nail polish choices!

Here is all of them together. I have one Revlon, one OPI, one Urban Outfitters, three Sally Hansen Insta-Dri, seven Essie colours, my Borghese Quick Dry Top Coat, and my Essie Millionails. All the details will be down below with the other pictures, and then I will link to individual nail polishes at the very bottom of the post!

Left to Right: Revlon in 925 Gold Coin; OPI in No Room For The Blues; Urban Outfitters in Chilly (one of my favourites, it has a thick consistency and so you can swipe one coat of it on, and wear it on it's own); Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in 270 Racy Rouge; 280 Rapid Red; Freeze. (I love Sally Hansen Insta-Dri and I wish they had more colours that I wanted! You're nails are done in ten minutes top, and all you need is one coat, and the larger brush makes for even faster and better application.)

Starting off my Essie's is 016 Waltz (I was actually quite disappointed, I wanted a really nice white colour for winter, but the formula of this nail polish is too liquidy, so it doesn't look super great when you've applied it, even after several coats); 696 Merino Cool; 608 In Stitches (both Merino Cool and In Stitches are also good Spring colours, so they will probably stick with me for another season!); 942 Penny Talk; 254 Raisinnuts; 400.
Next to Raisinnuts is 400 Bahama Mama (by far my favourite Essie colour thus far - goes on brilliantly, and the colour is amazing, you MUST get your hands on this colour; 784 Aruba Blue.

Then my Borghese Presto Fast Dry Coat, which is amazing, and dries really quickly; and my Essie Millionails, which I use fairly often, and yet haven't gone through much it seems - it really strengthens your nails and prevents chipping, peeling, and breaking which are all huge problems of mine... I give all of my probs to this little guy for enabling me to grow my nails after I stopped biting them!

Sorry for the cruddy picture quality, I really wish I could have filmed these today, so definitely check out the colours online!

Here are links to the colours:
1. Revlon
2. OPI
4. Essie

Anyways, that's all for now, and I hope you enjoyed this little look into my nail polish collection!

Christmas Break Trip!

Hello! So I am finally posting the pictures from my Christmas excursions! This will also (hopefully) be the last post with cell phone pictures, because I now have a camera to take photos with!

So, over Christmas break, I went up North to spend a week with my boyfriend's family, so here are some photos from the trip. I will be doing a room tour type post tomorrow because I have finished unpacking, so look forward to that!

So, this was on the trip to the airport. Seems Canada is living up to it's reputation as a snow haven this year. Also, you can see the ice on the trees from the awful and luckily brief ice storm we had.

Typical Canadian, always needing Tim Hortons. (#coffee)

This really cool water tank with plastic square boxes was in the airport. I was intrigued.

And one with me for good measure ;)

Well, my boyfriend's family has 5 cats. Two of which are kittens. This is "Mrs." I honestly could not stop cuddling with her, she is adorable.

My weakness. I spent too much time eating leftover Halloween peanut butter cups and drinking vodka sprites. Christmas weight gain is definitely a burden.

I spent lots of time drinking tea, especially because they had these adorable coffee mugs. Must get my hands on some.

Yep. I visited the -35 degree North alright.

This is Oscar, or Ozzy (or Ozzy Osbourne which is what I liked to call him). He's really fat, really cute, and kept my feet warm at night :)

This was "Mr." I think I held him twice. He was a shy one. This is also the master bedroom.

And this is Wilson. He looks like a very furry version of my cat. I didn't get a good picture of their cat Richard, but maybe next time.

And then I took a whole bunch of photos of the airplane ride back, so here is a conglomeration of those.

I wish I had of managed to take more photos, but I mostly spent the whole week sleeping, eating, playing Sims which my boyfriend got me for Christmas, and getting my Smart Serve qualification so that I can hopefully work in a restaurant between now and when I go back to school two September's from now.

Anyways, hope you enjoyed this and I promise I will post more often now that I'm all settled! Talk to you tomorrow.
