Fall 2014 Wishlist: H&M

Hello Everyone! Today I thought I would write a post on what I am currently lusting after at H&M this season. As fall is rolling in, and as I am realizing that quite a bit of my clothes no longer fit as I have lost some weight over the past year, I have been spending a lot of time at the mall trying to re-stock my wardrobe. I have already done quite a bit of shopping and hope to post a few hauls soon (I get home too late to have natural sunlight for photos, so I'm waiting on a good photo taking day), but for now, here is what I am lusting after from H&M!

1. H&M Black Combat Boots $39.95; 2. H&M Hooded Sweater in Black $24.95; 3. H&M Plaid Cotton Shirt $29.95; 4. H&M Long Sleeve Jersey Top $14.95.

1. Since fall of last year, I have been trying to find the perfect pair of combat boots that if purchased, wouldn't drain my bank account. And I believe I have found just that. When I went into H&M a couple weeks back, I instantly fell in love with this pair, and when I looked at the price tag, I fell even more in love. Combat boots are the perfect fall boot, and will keep my feet and ankles warm in the cool Canadian fall air, and will last me into the beginning of winter, before the 4-5 foot snow banks arrive. They are trendy, can go with about any outfit, and the price tag is perfect for those of us who can't afford a pair of Doc Martens.

2. This is a pretty basic and rather boring item, but I need a simple black hoodie. There are so many times when I put on an outfit and wish I had a black hoodie to throw over top. Immediately I wish I could run to American Apparel and grab all of their unisex hoodies off the shelf, but that would only result in an empty bank account. These look almost identical to the AA ones, but the price tag is much more reasonable. I am specifically lusting over a black one, but will probably grab a few in other colours as well while I'm there.

3. Plaid shirts are all the rave right now for fall, and when I saw this in store, I fell in love. It feels absolutely cozy as can be, and I love the colour. It would be perfect to throw on over a plain white tee with a pair of American Eagle sky high jeggings (this pair that I own would look perfect in this ensemble) or to tie around my waist. I don't own very much plaid, and don't wear it very often, but I am totally in love with this shirt.

4. As much as I love sweaters, sometimes I get bored of wearing the same sweaters over and over during the fall & winter, and in Canada, you won't catch me dead in fall or winter in just a tee shirt. Therefore, I have been looking for the perfect loose long sleeve tee, and have had my eyes set on these basic long sleeve jersey shirts. I could pair these with a simple necklace and a pair of light wash skinnies or boyfriend jeans for a casual, everyday look, or pair them with a pair of leather leggings and a statement necklace for a night out.

Well, that's all for what I'm currently lusting after at H&M and let me know if you would like me to do more fashion/style related posts, as I haven't delved into that area much as of yet, and love shopping as much as the next girl!

Hoping you are all having a fabulous day, and let me know in the comments what you're currently lusting after for fall!

Pink Leather Jacket - Yay or Nay?

Hello! Real post going up tonight, but first I wanted everyone's opinion on this leather pink leather jacket I spotted on Tumblr today!

I personally love this. It's super girly and edgy. Pink is such an unexpected colour for a leather jacket, and would look awesome paired with a dark pair of skinnies. I'm a huge fan - girly, edgy, pink - what more could I ask for?

But I'm curious... What are your thoughts? Would you purchase this jacket?

Also if anyone can make out where this jacket is from please let me know!

Mani of the Week: Essie 'In Stitches'

Hello everyone! This weeks mani features Essie's 'In Stitches, which I am totally in love with. It's a nice winter colour but is also fits into Spring, and I'm absolutely craving for winter to be over, so it's a nice pick me up. As always, I applied my Essie Millionails as a base coat, and then applied my Borghese Presto Fast Dry Top Coat over In stictches.

More pictures:

What's your go to winter/spring transition colour?

Hope everyone is having a terrific week! Thanks to everyone who has followed me lately, I feel absolutely blessed that people are reading my blog and enjoy what I have to say! Thank you!

Rebecca Minkoff Handbag Must Share!

Is this not the prettiest handbag you ever saw?!?! I had to share this. I am IN LOVE with this Handbag. It's the Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Affair handbag in Neon Pink. It's obviously way out of my post-university price range, but I am absolutely in love. I would die to carry a bag like this around on my shoulder!

What do you think?

Current Trends I'm Loving

Today I thought I would post a few of the current trends that I am loving.

One of the current trends I am loving includes leggings-as-pants which is obvious is you've seen any of my OOTD posts. I wear leggings everywhere and my Lululemon leggings feel like a dream to wear. They are so comfy. I didn't think they deserved their own picture, however I own quite a few pairs.

The next trend I am loving is faux leather in general, and faux leather accents. This is my winter jacket which I bought at Garage. It is my baby. It's called the Whistler coat and has faux fur in the hood and throughout the jacket itself. It keeps me super warm and is super stylish. And the faux leather detailing on the arms and the shoulders as well as the pockets make this jacket super edgy and super chic. They are no longer selling this coat as I bought it at the beginning of the winter season, however, if you check out their other outwear they do have other coats with leather detailing as well that are equally as cute!

The next trend I've been loving is crop tops! Here are four of the many crop tops that I own. The first second and fourth are from Urban Outfitters. Urban Outfitters had so many cute crop tops on sale during their college sale (50% off sale items with a valid student card, yesss) so I took advantage of that. The first looks super cute with the Zara skater skirt I will be showing later, and the 2nd and fourth look cute with the American Apparel maxi skirt I will be showing later. The third I got second hand, and I'm not sure where it's from, but the tag says 'Jerry Hall', and looks cute with a pair of high-waisted leggings or even just a pair of skinny jeans (or high-waisted skinny jeans!).

Another trend I'm loving is skater skirts, and I especially love this cute little red number from Zara. It has gold buttons on the side, and it can be dressed up or worn casually. I wish I had more!

Another trendy skirt I'm loving is maxi skirts. I especially love this one from American Apparel. You can purchase it and the same skirt in many other cute colours here.

This is part of the outfit I am wearing today, and that's destroyed jeans. My shape doesn't allow me to wear boyfriend jeans at the moment but destroyed boyfriend jeans just have this cute, chic edge to them that I love. These are my light wash destroyed skinny jeans from American Eagle.

I am also loving scrunchies. I remember growing up and always hating when all the 'cool' girls were wearing the small elastic hair ties and I was stuck wearing ugly scrunchies, but now I LOVE them. I think they're so cute! I got these ones from American Apparel.

These photos represent two of my current favourite trends, and that is comfy grandpa sweaters/any sort of warm knit sweater, and unexpected studding detail. Firstly, it is FREEZING outside right now, and so warm sweaters are a MUST and they are perfect and often quite cute. And this particularly studding really surprised me, but gives a comfy casual sweater an edge. You'd never expect to find wool and studs together, and that's what I love about it! This particular sweater is from Topshop.

I am also IN LOVE with sheer blouses. This is one of the many that I have, and this particular one is from H&M. They're really dressy and can be dressed up, but certain ones can also make a hot & scandalous clubbing outfit.

The last trend I'm loving is statement necklaces but unfortunately I don't own any yet! I found this image with a Google search. I really especially love the ones like number two and number eight in the photo. Triangles are such a hip and trendy shape right now, and I'm all on board!

Anyways, that's all for today, and I hope you enjoyed this post! Talk to you tomorrow.

The Bling Ring Book Review + OOTD

Hello everyone! So, as promised I will be doing a review of the book I just finished called The Bling Ring by Nancy Jo Sales. If I were to give it a number of stars out if 5, I'd give it 3.5/5. I personally really liked it, but it's not for everyone. It's a true story about a crime ring called "The Bling Ring" who robbed celebrities clothes, jewelry, money, etc. It was based off of Sales article in Vanity Fair called "The Suspects Wear Louboutins". It includes interviews with the suspects themselves, the police, and really just portrays how obsessed we are with celebrities and 'celebrity'. How we'd even go so far as to walk right into celebrities homes and take their property. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is the cover of the book, which includes the actors from the movie "The Bling Ring" starring Emma Watson as one of the main characters, "Nikky" in the movie, "Alexis" in the book. The movie was also based off of Sales article.

Here we have all of the suspects in the case. Seeing their pictures and putting a face to all the characters in the story really made this book much better. Especially with Nick. I found his picture to reveal a different person than I had imagined while reading before I discovered their pictures.

It also has pictures throughout of the various celebrities and suspects. This was a picture of Alexis and was in Sales' article.

It's split into 3 parts, and some of the chapters are only 3 or so paragraphs in length, which I found made it a perfect before bed book, because I could always wait until the chapter is over to fall asleep which I often can't do with books that have really long chapters.

All in all, I really enjoyed it, and I'm glad to have picked this up.

I also wanted to include my outfit of the day. I wore my Lulu leggings, a long sleeved tee from Urban Outfitters and a comfy studded shoulder sweater from Topshop. I also wore my American Eagle watch as always, and a pink and gold flower ring from H&M. I also wore my Baby Lips lip balm from Maybelline. When I first got it, I found it acted as more of a gloss and never really hydrated my lips. But I put it on for kicks this morning and my attitude has completely changed. Definitely a great lip balm. It kind of mirrors the effects of Vaseline on your lips.

Anyways, that's all for today, talk to you tomorrow!

Outfit of the Day + Makeup of the Day

Well, I didn't do much today other than laying around, and couldn't come up with a good blog idea, so I've just decided to do an outfit of the day + makeup of the day post. Tomorrow I will do a quick review of the book I've been reading, because I'm just about to finish it. So, here is today's outfit and makeup.

So, this is what I chose out last night. The pink top is Talula from Aritzia. It's currently on sale for $9.99. The jeans I got second hand, but originally bought in Paris. And the black sweater is from Abercrombie & Fitch.

Here is what I actually wore. Since I was chilling at home all day, I opted for my Classic Roots sweatpants instead. They are the comfiest/warmest sweatpants I have ever owned. They are currently $64.00. I put my hair in a simple bun using bobby pins, using my Batiste dry shampoo on my roots and my Aussie flexible hold hair spray to keep it up.

I also wore this pretty number which I bought from H&M.

As well as this 'Paradise' ring which I got second hand.

I used most of the same makeup I used yesterday (concealer, foundation, powder...) but used this Lise Watier eye shadow quad and this Revlon Lash Potion mascara.

To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of this palette. However, I love the gold-esque shade in the bottom right corner, bottom shade in the swatches.

This mascara is mediocre, not my favourite, but not bad, which I really only picked up because of it's pretty packaging. I usually use two coats of mascara, but as it turns out, it gets really cakey after more than one coat. One is enough. If you're looking for volume and length, and aren't too worried about clumps, this is your friend. However, I prefer a mascara that not only lengthens my lashes, but divides each of my individual lashes.

I also used this smash box shimmery nude lip gloss that I got as a sample. The colour is 'Illume'. It is quite a nice gloss that isn't sticky, but a bit gritty due to the glitter, which I don't necessarily mind.

And that's all for today! I can't wait until I get hired and am able to afford new makeup products so I can do reviews! I haven't bought too many new products recently, so I unfortunately don't have much to show. Anyways, talk to you tomorrow about The Bling Ring!
