Liebster Award Nomination!

Hello everyone! I'm super excited because Lilian Chen over at My Guide to All Things Beauty nominated me for a Liebster Award! I'm super excited because I have just reached 70 followers on Bloglovin' and I can't believe anyone even follows me let alone thinks I'm an 'up and coming blogger'! I'm so thankful for all of my followers. I really just started this as a way to fill some of my time as I'm quite bored and left with few hobbies now that I've graduated university and now it's starting to become much more than that, and I hope it continues!

Anways, for anyone that doesn't know the Liebster award is given to up and coming bloggers who have 200 followers or less.  There are a set of rules to abide by which are listed below.

1. Post about the Liebster award and thank the blogger who nominated you.

2. Write 11 facts about yourself.

3. Answer 11 questions created by the blogger who nominated you.

4. Nominate 11 other bloggers with around 200 followers or less as the aim is to help people connect with more blogs (and get even more followers).

5. Write 11 new questions for your nominees.

Alright, so 11 facts about myself:

1. My birthday is on St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) and I will be 23 this year!
2. I have an Honours Psychology degree from university.
3. I used to absolute hate the colour yellow and I still don't like orange even though it's become a lot more fashionable over the past couple of years!
4. I never wear sweatpants or comfy pajama clothes around the house unless I am going to bed. I can't be motivated to do anything until I'm up and dressed for the day.
5. My feet are two different sizes, and are off by 1/2 a size.
6. My current boyfriend is my first, and we will have been today for a year and a half on February 25th, which I think is pretty impressive for the first go!
7. I am addicted to clothes and shopping, and am going crazy because I haven't found a job yet, and therefore haven't been able to go shopping in awhile!
8. I own a blue Holga camera, and love getting the film developed.
9. I have a black cat named Trigger, and he is 7 yrs old!
10. I lost 30lbs over the span of summer 2012 to summer 2013.
11. I'm kind of a super shy introvert when you first meet me, but become a really loud extrovert the more you get to know me.

Alright, and now to answer the questions that Lilian left for me:

What was the last things that made you smile?
Reaching 70 followers! So happy!

What are you doing on Valentine's Day?
Probably staying in and drinking hot chocolate and playing video games with my boyfriend.

Why did you start blogging?
I had just moved towns and finished university, and I needed a hobby, and since I enjoyed watching Beauty Gurus on youtube and reading their blogs, I thought I would give it a go!

What do you want to be remembered for?
Helping others (preferable through psychotherapy!) and being extremely empathetic and understanding.

What is your favourite beauty product?
It's a toss up between concealer and mascara. Mascara ties everything together, whereas concealer is like magic and I can usually get away with no foundation and concealer around my eyes and on my blemishes!

Where was the last country you visited?
Well, I've only ever lived in Canada and visited the US, so probably the United States.

What essential makeup item do you think most girls/women need?
Hands down mascara.

What is your most treasured item of clothing?
Hmm... probably my leggings, believe it or not. I wear them almost every day, and if I could only choose one thing to keep, it would probably be them.

Would you rather Roses or Lilies?
Roses :)

Which one do you prefer: Winter or Summer?
Summer! So excited that it's almost Spring, because that means skirt and dress season is coming!!!

What is the most adventurous food you have ever eaten?
This is a tough one because I'm very picky... I want to say lobster and clams, but I don't think that's very adventurous!

My nominations:
(To be honest, I love all of the blogs I follow, so I went through my list and tagged the first 11 with under 200 followers!)

Abby from All Things Abby
Abigail from *Abigail Alice*
Becky from Birds in Blossom
Stacey from Beauty Diaryy
Natasha from Catching Dreams
Emily from Emilicia STYLE
Eline from Eline Blaise
Emily from Glittery Teacups
Charlotte from GagaAboutBeauty

Questions for my Nominees!

1. Coca Cola or Pepsi? And if neither, tell me your favourite bevi!
2. Vanilla or Chocolate? And if neither... Favourite flavour?
3. Favourite Beauty Guru/Idol?
4. Favourite fashion/style idol?
5. Place you would most like to travel to?
6. Favourite novel/author?
7. If you could only ever shop (for fashion and beauty related things) in one place from now until you die, where would you choose?
8. Who is your absolute favourite blogger?
9. Cats or Dogs? (or other?)
10. What is your favourite memory?
11. Why did you start blogging and where would you like for it to go?

Thank you again to all of my followers and to Lilian! I'm super glad you're all here for the ride, and I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and getting to know a little bit more about me!

Review: Rimmel London BB Cream

Hello! I meant for this post to go up last night, but I had forgotten to take some of the photos, and I figured taking the photos in daylight might be better for you guys anyways.

So, today I will be reviewing the Rimmel London BB cream or 'Beauty Balm'. Taken from the Rimmel London UK website, it is "Rimmel's 1st 9-in-1 Skin Perfecting Super Makeup." It is supposed to "prime, moisturise, minimise pores, conceal, cover, smoothe, mattify, brighten, and help protect." It is a "Lightweight, ultra comfortable formula (that) instantly gives a flawless, 100% natural finish" and has an "SPF 25."

A few more pictures:

I bought this quite awhile ago, but recently just decided to give it another go, as I don't like putting heavy amounts of makeup on my face every day, but I'm having really bad breakouts, so I need something to cover up the mess that is currently my natural face, without being heavy and over the top.

I personally really love this particular BB cream. I think the thing I love most about it, is that although my skin is prone to becoming really oily in my t zone after a few hours of makeup on, this, paired with my Covergirl Clean Pressed Powder, rarely lets those oils through. The BB cream sits all day, and I only very rarely need to put a few more pats of powder on to absorb the oil. Most of the bases I've used have never done that before, so I am definitely please about that.

Speaking to it's 9-in-1 claims, I feel it doesn't speak to all nine claims, at least for me. I haven't used it as a primer, however, I'm sure it would work well as a primer, especially with it's ability to block oils, which would make your makeup stay put throughout the day. It does moisturize, and I usually skip out on moisturizer if I will be using this, because it ends up becoming an unnecessary step. It does minimize the look of your pores, however, this is only when wearing it - it doesn't, over the long run, minimize your pores, at least for my stubborn large pores. I definitely wouldn't say it conceals. I always need to use my concealer over top, and has low coverage, so if you have dark acne scars like myself, it will not conceal those. It does cover nicely, and leaves your face looking the same colour all over. It definitely smoothes your skin, but doesn't necessarily mattify or brighten your skin. You do get a slight glow, and the product isn't glowy, and therefore relatively matte, but you will definitely need to use a powder or highlighter if you want really bright matte skin. It has SPF 25, so it does help protect your skin from the suns harmful rays, which is a plus! It's really natural, and looks great on my skin!

Personally, I am very impressed. It's a very light weight, natural BB cream, that leaves my skin hydrated, and prevents oils! I will definitely be repurchasing this in the future!

This is what my makeup looked like today with it on!:

One down side: It only comes in two shades, light and medium, and luckily light ended up matching my skin, so you may have trouble finding a shade that suits your needs!

I hope you enjoyed this review!

Have you tried this BB cream? What were your thoughts? What is your favourite drugstore BB cream?

Pink Leather Jacket - Yay or Nay?

Hello! Real post going up tonight, but first I wanted everyone's opinion on this leather pink leather jacket I spotted on Tumblr today!

I personally love this. It's super girly and edgy. Pink is such an unexpected colour for a leather jacket, and would look awesome paired with a dark pair of skinnies. I'm a huge fan - girly, edgy, pink - what more could I ask for?

But I'm curious... What are your thoughts? Would you purchase this jacket?

Also if anyone can make out where this jacket is from please let me know!

Mani of the Week: Essie 'In Stitches'

Hello everyone! This weeks mani features Essie's 'In Stitches, which I am totally in love with. It's a nice winter colour but is also fits into Spring, and I'm absolutely craving for winter to be over, so it's a nice pick me up. As always, I applied my Essie Millionails as a base coat, and then applied my Borghese Presto Fast Dry Top Coat over In stictches.

More pictures:

What's your go to winter/spring transition colour?

Hope everyone is having a terrific week! Thanks to everyone who has followed me lately, I feel absolutely blessed that people are reading my blog and enjoy what I have to say! Thank you!

My Night Time Routine!

Hello everyone! Tonight I will be discussing my night time routine, so stay tuned! In advance I'd just like to apologize for the photo quality - my camera is dead and I do not know where the charger is! So, unfortunately poor lighting + my cell phone means low quality photos. :(

The very first thing I do is get in my pjs! Tonight I'm wearing these cute Winnie the Pooh pajama bottoms and one of my boyfriends tees.

Next I like to light a candle, and I'm currently loving sweeter vanilla scents for the evenings. This is the Paddywax Vanilla + Oakmoss candle that I purchased at Urban Outfitters!

Then I will brush my teeth with Crest 3D White toothpaste, for a nice whitened smile :)

First up after brushing my teeth is skin care and hair!

I like using scrubs at night, because I find I wake up with much healthier looking skin in the morning. I'm currently using this Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliant Cleanser.

I will the go in with the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment if I have any blemishes that need zapping.

Then I will use an eye cream, and am currently using this sample of Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector

Next up is my Hydraluron serum. (Who woulda guessed?!)

Then I'll go in with a face cream, and am currently using this sample of Ole Henrikson Express The Truth cream.
I forgot to picture it in the beginning, but before cleansing my face I will go in with this Rimmel London Just Let It Go Gentle Eye Makeup Remover to remove the makeup from my eyes and the rest of my face.

If I'm having a lazy night and it's gotten a bit too late and I feel like I can't possibly stand up for long enough to complete my whole routine, I will simply go in with these Korres Milk Proteins Cleansing & Makeup Removing Wipes for Face and Eyes

Next I spritz a little bit of this Julep Invisible Dry Shampoo in my roots to lessen the buildup of oil I get in my hair over night!

Next I choose my outfit for the next day and write a to-do list of what I need to get done the next day.
Then I will take my pills (not pictured for privacy reasons) and put on some of this Body Shop Almond Hand & Nail Cream and then some of the Maybelline Baby Lips to moisturize my lips over night.

The last thing I will do is snuggle in bed and either watch Youtube videos, browse Bloglovin, or read a bit of the novel I am reading (which is currently Bridget Jones' Diary).

And that's all! Hope you enjoyed!

My Morning Routine!

Hello everyone! First off, I'm really quite tired at it's almost 1am, so I apologize if my words get jumbled! Anyways, I've seen quite a few bloggers and youtubers going through their morning and night time routines, so I thought I'd join in the fun! So, today I will be blogging about my morning routine. I will not be reviewing products, but more of less just showing you which ones I am currently using! Tomorrow will be my night time routine! (However, my camera battery died, and neither my boyfriend nor I know where the charger is, so I may need to take cell phone pictures for tomorrow!)

So, here we go - My Morning Routine.

I shower every second morning, and this was shower day. I am currently using the TRESemme 24 HR Body shampoo and conditioner, the Soap & Glory Foam Call Body Wash, and the Sephora brand Purifying Cleansing Gel. On mornings that I don't shower, I usually just use the cleanser!

Next I used my Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter sample that I got from my most recent Sephora haul, which I will hopefully be reviewing in the new future!

I then got dressed! Top: Garage; Sweater: Topshop; Leggings: Lululemon.

Then it's time to brush my teeth! I'm currently using the Crest 3D white collection, because I was not the best tooth brusher when I was younger, so my teeth have a very slight yellow tinge that I'm yearning to get rid of!

Next onto skin care! All of the items are below :)

Currently using the Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 for Combination/Oily skin for toner!

Another Clinique product I am using is this Clinique All About Eyes Serum, which has a roller ball and is meant to de-puff the under eye area.

I've been having crazy acne over the past few months, and this Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment is my current zit zapper which I only use over my pimples or 'spots'.

And, as my last post mentions, I've been using the Hydraluron serum to keep my skin nice and moist!

I have been using the Ole Henrikson Express The Truth cream that I got 3 packets of as samples from my last Sephora haul as well.

To give my skin some time to soak in the moisturizer, I applied an anti-frizz product, then blow dried my hair.

I have been using the John Frieda Frizz-Ease formula which (spoiler alert) I absolutely love!

I then applied a bit of Julep Sea Salt Spray, some Julep Invisible Dry Shampoo, and Aussie Sprunch hair spray to the bottom half of my hair and scrunched my hair upwards, as I was planning on having very volumized waves in my hair today.

Then I started my Infiniti hair wand, and put on my pink fly away tamer lululemon headband to keep my hair out of my face for makeup application!

My eyebrows needed some fixing, so I used a comb to comb my eyebrows upwards and then trim any long hairs, and plucked out stray hairs.
BROW GROOMING TIP: If you're afraid of over plucking or you're fairly new to grooming your eyebrows, use a white eyeliner pencil to trace where you would like your eyebrows to be. I find it helps me achieve the exact shape I want! However, not everyone is perfect - your eyebrows will probably more often than not be identical, but don't fret! - that's what an eyebrow pencil is for!
I then wanted to switch up my foundation because I've been using the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation for quite awhile now, so I switched to the Maybelline Fit Me foundation in 115.
Then I covered up my under eye circles and primed my lids with the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Radiant.
To cover my acne/acne scars I used this Covergirl Smoothers Concealer in 725 Illuminator.
I used the Covergirl Clean Oil Control pressed powder in 510 Classic Ivory.
I then used my Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in 027 Sun Dance to contour my face.

For blush I used my Annabelle blush "48". And to be honest, I have no idea what this body illuminator is - I probably got it as a child. However, it acts as the perfect highlighter on my face right now. I then used this Avon shadow in Gold Frost. Next I used the NYC Waterproof eyeliner pencil in 932 Dark Brown. And then I lined my water line with the Rimmel London Soft Kohl pencil in 071 Pure White. Next I curled my lashes and applied my Maybelline The Mega Plush Volum' Express mascara. And then finally I filled in my brows with the Annabelle Eyebrow Pencil in 010 Taupe.

Finally, I applied my Body Shop Vanilla Body Mist and my Secret Outlast deodorant.

And there you have it! My full morning routine! Hope you enjoyed it!
